The Founder Thomas E. McCormick, M.D. and Core Instructors, Adele von Rust McCormick, Ph.D. and Marlena Deborah McCormick, Ph.D. are innovators in the field of psychology and psychiatry. They have extensive backgrounds in analytic depth psychology, developmental psychotherapy and group dynamics.

The McCormick’s were the first to use horses for healing. For decades they have developed unique ways to bring hope, joy and passion into people’s lives. They are the authors of two groundbreaking books: Horse Sense and the Human Heart and Horses and the Mystical Path.  

They are also skilled breeders, trainers and historians of horses, specializing in the Spanish breeds and horsemanship. Schooled in styles of riding based upon principles of harmony, lightness, communication and cooperation the Drs. bring these vital concepts to you. They operate an equestrian breeding and training facility for Peruvian horses 20 minutes north of San Antonio in the beautiful Hill Country.

They began exploring the beneficial connection between horses and people in the 1970’s. At the ranch you can find inner peace and creativity.
